Introduction
Seoul City Wall Research Center was established to open and operate Seoul City Wall Museum to have a comprehensive view of the historical status of Seoul City Wall and its value as a world heritage on the spot and lay an academic ground for the registration of Seoul City Wall as a world cultural heritage by conducting researches and academic studies on Seoul City Wall through an interdisciplinary approach.
 
Main duties

□ Research study of Seoul City Wall

○ The interested in Seoul City Wall was expressed in various books and pieces of research published after the beginning of the restoration of Seoul City Wall. Seoul City Wall Research Center is collecting the results of the researches that have been conducted separately so far, and recording the situations of the villages inside and outside the city wall, past and present.

○ The ramparts and facilities of Seoul City Wall as well as the historical and cultural environment around the city wall are researched and summarized through the geotechnical investigation and excavation of the inside and outside of the city wall.

○ The results of the researches related to Seoul City Wall which have already been carried out and the literature, photos and picture data are collected and summarized, and the archive of Seoul City Wall is established and operated on the basis of such efforts.


□ Exhibition in Seoul City Wall Museum

○ Seoul City Wall Museum contributes to spreading the consensus of people all around the world for the preservation and management of Seoul City Wall by holding permanent exhibitions and special exhibitions which can publicize Seoul City Wall to the citizens of Seoul and the visitors from home and abroad as a symbol of a unique identity containing the long history and culture of Seoul.


○ Also, the digital museum will be realized and operated in both offline and online spaces using high-tech IT technologies to secure remote access and enable interactive production.


□ Operation of various educational programs on Seoul City Wall

○ Domestic and international academic symposiums and experts' workshop on Seoul City Wall will be held and various educational programs will be developed and operated for Seoul citizens to raise the understanding of Seoul City Wall and draw continuous interest and attention on the city wall.
