Chohung Bank, the oldest bank in Korea, celebrated its
100th anniversary on February 1997 with the Chohung Financial Museum,
contributing to the understanding of finance by the average person
and allowing people to see in one glance the development of financial
history in Korea. The Chohung Financial Museum is located on the third
and fourth floors of the Gwanghwamun branch of Chohung bank in the
cultural district of Taepyeong-ro, Jung-gu, has a total area of 359
pyeong and over 2,500 items.
Established 100 years after the founding of the bank, the Chohung
Financial Museum gives a new opportunity to see the stages of development
in the financial economy of Korea, and the development of the financial
aspect of the country along with the bank. From the ancient economies
of old to the hi-tech economy of today, the Chohung Financial Museum
has meaning in the fact that in spite of the importance of the economy
in one¡¯s life, exhibition rooms where one can see the stages of economics
development have not been present until its founding. |
