Following the special exhibition titled ‘Uigeumbu, Geumogyecheop’, the museum is presenting ‘Gentlemen’s Hat shop in the Joseon Dynasty’ as its first special exhibition in 2020.
This exhibition introduces ‘ip-jeon’, the gentlemen’s hat shop in Unjongga where gathered a number of people and wealth like clouds and ‘gat’, one of the most emblematic items of attire worn by the gentry of the Joseon dynasty.
While strolling the alleys of hanyang (Seoul) preserved by the museum, we hope the exhibition provides an opportunity to savor the beauty of the street market panorama of the gentlemen’s hat shop.
