Welcome to the Seoul Museum of Korean Folk Music, the first museum in Korea dedicated solely to Korean folk songs. Opened in 2019, our museum celebrates these precious vessels of Korean thoughts and emotions of Koreans, offering a unique window into traditional Korean society. Korean folk songs are a cherished intangible cultural heritage, and we invite you to explore their rich history and cultural experience through our exhibitions, educational programs, and cultural events.

Seasonal Festival Songs, Collective Play Songs, Children’s Folk Songs, Arirang – A Song of the People, and Popular Folk Songs.
Seasonal customs and festivities for both adults and children are always accompanied by songs. Some of these songs have been preserved to this day, thanks to the development of mass media and the efforts of professional musicians.
